Job overview:

The Warehouse process specialist at BMI ensures that standard process, systems, documentation, compliance are in place to provide highly effective and efficient end-to-end processes for the Warehouse management process area including  upstream and downstream cross functional processes with OTC, PTP, PTF and RTR. 

The Warehouse Process specialist will act as a subject matter expert (SME) and key functional contact for business partners in all matters concerning the warehouse management process, policies, external benchmarks, new tool implementation and approval of changes in existing systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse management processes and best practices, the ability to work with cross-functional teams, demonstrate and implement processes to improve operational efficiency, all with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.

Key accountabilities:

  • Process Standardisation

    • Coordinate with the solution delivery and business function teams to standardise where appropriate, share learning and best practices, and ensure alignment with the end-to-end process objectives and initiatives.

    • Create and maintain a robust knowledge library containing Process documentation and global SOP’s.

    • Develop and Support Warehouse management audits for all in-scope Business.

  • Process Performance

    • Continuous monitoring of Warehouse Management process performance and efficiency, engage with the business, diagnose problems that may be related to process, technology, strategy, or people and put in place a clear business case and action plan to manage unresolved issues and optimise process performance.

    • Identify improvements and opportunities to implement efficiencies and simplification in or warehouse operations using the tools and analytics available. 

  • Innovation 

    • Stay current on Industry and technology advances for Warehouse management.

    • Showcase new capabilities within BMI through Communities of practice.

    • Implement proof of concepts with demonstrated tangible business benefits to support business cases on investment.

Qualifications & Experiences Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply chain, Logistics or Business Administration

  • Minimum 5 years Solid experience in leading or managing warehouse operations

  • Minimum one full cycle implementation of a WMS - EWM preferred

  • Working knowledge of SAP IM and MM processes 

  • Fluent in Business English both written and oral

  • Up to 30% in travel required
