About the team
Run Time Platforms (RTP), a division of Global Technology Platform (GTP), is dedicated to developing products and platforms that empower application teams to efficiently deploy and manage runtime environments. This position focuses on our proprietary service registry application core, in-house solution. The Service Registry acts as a central registry for Walmart for all the applications.
What You’ll Do
Design and implement new features while continuously improving quality of Service Registry application
Build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting associates of Walmart worldwide
Designs reusable strategies, decisions, service components, libraries and frameworks to support enterprise-level services.
Develop software meeting code quality standards and metrics
Guide and mentor others members in the team to promote highly technical and self-sufficient teams
Create and maintain technical documentation for the team to reference and share with our internal customers
Ensures the maintenance, patching, operating, and monitoring of systems.
Troubleshoots and resolves system incidents, problems and changes, as required
Engage and support application teams integrating with Service registry
Seeking and maintaining knowledge (cross/up skill) of current and upcoming identity security technologies.
What You’ll bring
Deep understanding of designing, building, and maintaining microservices-based systems.
Experience with RESTful APIs, gRPC, and API documentation (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI).
Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
Familiarity with deploying and managing microservices on cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Understanding of messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SNS/SQS).
Strong expertise in Java/J2EE/Spring technologies
Skills in monitoring, logging, and tracing (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Jaeger).
Implementing authentication, authorization, and secure communication between services.
Experience working with NoSQL databases like Cosmos DB, Cassandra, MongoDB
