The primary purpose of the EHS Global Projects Lead role is to drive continuous safety improvement in the business through targeted project-based activity.

The role holder will work with a broad network of EHS and commercial stakeholders to build an annual  project framework for the team and deliver specific project plans, responding to highest priority risks, with tangible outputs and measurable change. This includes working with the EHS Technical shared service team, which produces core EHS systems, policies and programmes that can be adapted to suit a commercial audience. It also includes partnering with subject matter experts within the EHS Commercial and Global Functions team that will be vital in supporting project objectives.

The role holder’s work will input to the strategic decisions of the EHS Global Lead Team and governance process. It will be a visible role, with the opportunity to work directly with senior leaders and local EHS stakeholders in project delivery. 

There is flexibility on the location of the role, although the preference is for candidates to be based in the UK

In this role you will  

  • Deliver the day-to-day operations of the global Driver and Rider safety programme, including managing central compliance tracking and reporting systems, producing materials, creating meetings and overseeing training assignments, content and completions.
  • Input to global and regional Driver and Rider safety programme continuous improvements
  • Create and maintain an annual EHS Commercial and Global Functions project framework which will help to coordinate all EHS-led projects.
  • Work with the EHS Commercial and Global Functions Lead to assess the business case and resource requirements for new projects and to ensure implementation aligns with EHS strategic goals and objectives.
  • Work with EHS systems leads and the continuous improvement analyst to convert proposed areas for improvement into project deliverables
  • Create and maintain a project tracking and measurement system to track progress against objectives and share regular progress reports to gain support from across the EHS network
  • Create and deliver a range of materials including communications for internal use
  • Attend monthly governance and lead team meetings as required
  • Attend regional EHS and other relevant meetings where required to help deliver project objectives through to Local Operating Companies (LOCs)
  • Work directly with LOCs as project point of contact to improve understanding of objectives and to provide local EHS stakeholders with support where required

Why you? 

Basic Qualifications & Skills: 

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: 

  • Bachelor level degree in EHS/compliance disciplines or business operations 
  • Extensive experience of EHS or compliance experience including project management or project management within a commercial business
  • Proven project management experience with demonstrable positive change
  • Pharmaceutical/Bio-pharmaceutical experience or equivalent in highly regulated markets/commercial business.
  • Experience working in large organisations, in a matrix environment.
  • Experience of engaging business leaders, undertaking a role in formal leader councils, committees or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Post graduate EHS or business operations qualifications
