The Opportunity: 

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona invites applications for the role of Manager of Academic Affairs, a key position dedicated to enhancing faculty support and advancing academic initiatives.

Role Overview: In this position, you will be at the heart of our academic operations, driving faculty development, managing critical academic processes, and ensuring smooth administrative functions. This role demands a proactive individual with a passion for education and a knack for organizational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Professional Growth: Design and implement professional development programs, including workshops and seminars, to enhance staff skills and support career progression.
  • Manage Academic Processes: Oversee curriculum review, annual catalog production, and the faculty hiring process. Ensure efficient management of user permissions and faculty records.
  • Ensure Compliance & Accuracy: Maintain credentialing records, manage promotion and tenure processes, and uphold compliance with SACS and state regulations.
  • Administer IT Systems: Lead the administration of academic IT systems such as Workday, Campus Solutions, and SharePoint. Maintain and optimize the Academic Affairs SharePoint site and related systems.
  • Coordinate Reporting & Communication: Serve on key committees, prepare monthly reports for the Chancellor, and support the Faculty Senate with meeting planning, communications, and election processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous leadership experience in an academic setting overseeing curriculum management, accreditation processes, and faculty credentialing.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide faculty and staff.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, mentoring, managing and performance evaluations.
  • Ability to manage and develop teams, including mentoring and supporting faculty and staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with leadership, faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across departments and colleges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to address complex academic and administrative issues.
  • Knowledge of academic policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards and the requirements for faculty credentialing.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems, student information systems, academic software and other digital tools used in higher education.
