Job Summary :
The role of ICC Clinical Coordinator is to support the Assistant Director and Clinical Manager in administrative duties, as well as functionally support and extend the role of the Physician by providing patient-focused evaluation and communication.Job Description
Essential responsibilities:
Clinical:
Actively evaluating and treating patients in the urgent care setting
Precepting students (including onboarding and scheduling)
Training/orienting new providers
Non-Clinical:
1. Assist Director and Clinical manager with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new providers
Conduct interviews, help make hiring decisions, attend provider onboarding meetings, collaborate with med staff office to schedule and ensure new provider has all requirements completed prior to start date (SARS reqs, collab agreement, education/certifications, epic training, etc), attend new hire lunch at the hospital, schedule orientation shifts, review policies
2. Orient new providers to the unit and train them during orientation shifts
3. Manage the schedule for all providers in the ICC
Create and maintain schedule template
Approve vacation requests
Create and maintain the holiday schedule
Handle provider call ins, EDO, and attendance logs
Approve Provider Timecards
4. Collaborate with the Medical Director/Collaborating physicians to:
Monitor overall care and clinical practice carried out at the ICC facilities
Provide guidance in quality of care and safety in the workplace environment
Identify and develop needed treatment guidelines and recommendations; distribute these guidelines and recommendations to staff/providers
Provide ongoing education to the ICC providers
5. Assist Director and Clinical Manager with:
Recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of staff
Input regarding performance evaluations for providers and staff
PTO approvals
Supply ordering/management
Sending out communications to providers and staff
Obtaining, maintaining, and tracking operation related data such as census, staffing, transfers, LWBS encounters, POC testing and positivity rates
Developing new tools, procedures, and processes to enhance efficiency, workflow, and quality of patient care, as well as help support providers/staff
Developing, implementing, and updating policies and procedures as needed to support the department and hospital
6. Other duties:
Schedule, plan, and conduct quarterly provider meetings and other departmental meetings
Manage provider billing errors
Attend committee meetings such as APP Council, ER/UC Committee (when the Medical Director is unavailable to attend), General Medical Staff meetings, Outpatient Clinical Review Committee, Medicine Specialty Committee.
Attend and actively participate in ICC leadership meetings on a regular basis

Education and Experience Required:
1.Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant Program.
2. Must maintain required continuing medical education
3. Previous work experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred.
Mandatory Licensure/Certifications:
1. Certification from the National Commission of Physician Assistants.
2. Licensed to practice in Indiana.
