Job Description:

  • Role Title: Clinical Psychologist - Community Mental Health

  • Role Type: Fix term (till July 2026), Part time (24 hours per week)

  • Role Grade: Clinical Psychologist Year 1-5

  • Department and Location: Community Mental Health, St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst

  • Salary: $109,247 - $133,156 (pro-rata) + Super + Salary packaging

About the Role:

  • Join the Community Mental Health Rehabilitation Service in a fixed-term, part-time role delivering trauma-informed and recovery oriented mental health care to adults living within the St Vincent’s catchment

  • Be a key player in a collaborative multidisciplinary team, integrating mental health and physical health care to support patient resilience and recovery

  • Use your expertise to provide tailored, evidence-based psychological assessments and therapies that make a real difference in patients’ adjustment to illness

  • Drive continuous service improvement with a focus on compassionate, holistic care deeply aligned with St Vincent’s mission and values

About You:

  • A passionate and fully registered Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA endorsement, armed with a postgraduate Masters or Doctorate and a genuine commitment to improving patient wellbeing

  • Experienced in fast-paced hospital environments, confidently managing complex mental health needs including homelessness, drug and alcohol use, and forensic issues

  • Skilled in applying evidence-based psychological treatments with a person-centred, recovery-focused approach that empowers patients and families

  • A natural collaborator who thrives in multidisciplinary teams, building strong connections with colleagues and care partners to deliver seamless care

  • Highly organised and proactive, with excellent communication and supervision skills, ready to mentor and support junior clinicians with enthusiasm and professionalism
