This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic and commercially-minded Account Director to lead an account within VML. You will be at the forefront of the client relationship, taking full ownership of the account's strategic direction, commercial health, and overall success. We are looking for a natural leader who is passionate about technology and CRM, ready to inspire a talented team and drive innovative, data-driven campaigns. You will be the senior point of contact for our client, responsible for fostering a strong partnership, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring the delivery of revolutionary work that exceeds expectations.

What you will be doing

  • Own and nurture senior-level client relationships, acting as a trusted strategic partner and the primary escalation point.
  • Lead the strategic development of the account, defining the vision and roadmap for data-driven
  • CRM campaigns (including emails and push notifications).
  • Drive commercial growth by identifying new opportunities, developing proposals, and ensuring account profitability
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the account team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring they are on strategy, on time, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with the data team to guide data strategy development and ensure the optimal audience for CRM communications.
  • Take responsibility for account finances, including forecasting, budget reconciliation, and monthly invoicing.
  • Champion campaign strategies, ensuring they are technically feasible and align with the broader client objectives.
  • Present work confidently to senior clients, challenging feedback where necessary to protect the strategic integrity of the work.
  • Contribute to and lead larger strategic opportunities, driving the long-term success and partnership with the client.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as an Account Director, or a highly experienced Senior Account Manager, within a creative or digital agency.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and growing major client accounts, ideally within the automotive sector.
  • Strong background in CRM, data-driven marketing, and digital communications.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing talent.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing account P&L, forecasting, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to translate client needs into innovative and effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to build relationships with senior-level stakeholders.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including strategy, data, and creative.
  • A proactive and ambitious individual, passionate about delivering best-in-class work.
