About you and this role

As G.China & ASAEN Marketing Communications Specialist for Building & Infrastructure and Industrial and Chemical Processing, this individual is responsible for developing and executing the regional marketing communications strategy for Dow’s innovations and solutions, targeting audiences across two Dow Consumer Solutions’ markets: Building & Infrastructure and Industrial and Chemical Processing.

This role will be responsible for development of Greater China & ASAEN communications strategy and implementation of the tactics that align to global communications strategies for Building & Infrastructure and Industrial and Chemical Processing markets, two strategic markets within Consumer Solutions business. This individual must be a solutions-minded, collaborative team member that works well with a global team, across multiple global markets and is able to organize, prioritize and execute numerous ongoing initiatives.

It is critical for this individual to have a proven ability to develop and implement regional strategic communication plans and experience in managing traditional and digital communication programs including but not limited to media relations, advertising, thought leadership, virtual and in-person trade shows, customer communications, as well as digital and social media. Digital communication is an important part woven throughout the Integrated Marketing Communications Plans.

This position is part of the Dow Consumer Solutions business communications organization and will report to the Consumer Solutions Business Communications Leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns marketing communications strategies and budget for the Building & Infrastructure and Industrial and Chemical Processing markets in G.CHINA & ASAEN :
    • Responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies in G.CHINA & ASAEN , aligned with global strategies for the Building & Infrastructure and Industrial and Chemical Processing markets.
      • Leads and organizes thought leadership programs including key in-person and virtual tradeshows/conferences/webinars.
      • Leads integrated marketing communication strategy and content for product launches.
      • Develops and executes value chain digital communication campaigns across various channels, including social media content development and distribution, dow.com website  optimization (market pages content optimization, literature and videos updating), email marketing campaigns and SEO/SEM campaigns (both organic and paid campaigns)
      • Leads social media channels, enhance operation optimization and content creation for multiple DOWSIL™ channels, including B&I Wechat service channel and video channel, DOWSIL ™Adhesive and sealant Facebook channel, DOWSIL™ Tiktok Channel
      • Develops messaging, facilitates creative advertising campaigns, and writes communications materials to engage value chain customers, including public relations materials (press releases, byline articles selection guide, case studies, and videos etc.)
      • Support DOWSIL™ N+N e-commerce business model (Tmall, JD, 1688, Tiktok, Shopee and Lazada) including VIS guidance, page design and e-commerce promotion campaign.
      • Manages sales tools like literatures, demo kits, color cards, giveaways and etc.
      • Partners with channel partners and equipment vendors to ensure business communications alignment and protect Dow’s brand reputation, provides guidance and evaluation for joined promotional activities
      • Defines promotional campaigns KPIs to track ROI
      • Owns marketing communications budget in G.CHINA & ASAEN  for the Building & Infrastructure and Industrial and Chemical Processing markets and oversees agency management, including agency performance and relationship management, etc.
  • Communicates and collaborates regularly with the global Dow Consumer Solutions communications team to ensure alignment with global market and communications strategies and to leverage and share communications materials and best practices
  • In charge of implementing the global Dow Consumer Solutions Sustainability Communications Strategy in Greater China ensuring tools and messaging resonate with the specific target audiences.

  • Provides strategic business communications counsel and support to the Dow Consumer Solutions Regional Commercial Director in G.CHINA & ASAEN :
    • Advises on internal and external communications, including communications guidance for internal commercial in-person and virtual events.
    • Leads business communications support for crisis communications in G.CHINA & ASAEN

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or related fields
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in Marketing Communications
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (both spoken and written) is a must, any other regional language is an advantage
  • Deep understanding of strategic communications and ability to translate business strategy into communications strategy and the respective promotional tactics
  • Strong execution of key tactical components of a larger strategy with expertise in tradeshow and event organization
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and escalate among conflicting and large volume of demands; ability to perform well under pressure and within budget
  • Advanced communications and message delivery skills, based on clear understanding of target audience(s)
  • Initiative and ability to work and make decisions autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Be familiar with digital communications programs and a large variety of different content marketing tools
  • Ability to positively contribute to a team-building and collaborative work environment
  • Key behaviors include initiative, resourcefulness, problem-solving, abundance and ownership mentality, collaboration, bias for action rooted in strategy
