THE ROLE

As a strategic cornerstone of our Japan team, you will empower our Go-to-Market (GTM) functions to scale and succeed. You will act as a trusted advisor to Japan’s leadership, blending high-touch coaching with sophisticated data analytics to drive business results. By bridging local site needs with global HR programs, you ensure our Sales and Systems Engineering teams are optimized for peak performance. This is a high-visibility mission where your influence shapes the culture and effectiveness of the "Best People Team on the Planet."

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Anchor Strategic Site Leadership: Forge deep partnerships with the Japan Leadership team to diagnose organizational needs, identify talent gaps, and drive workforce strategies that align with our global GTM objectives.

  • Elevate Manager Capability: Design and deliver scalable coaching frameworks for corrective performance management, enabling managers to navigate complex employee relations and documentation with confidence and consistency.

  • Engineer Data-Driven Insights: Develop sophisticated dashboards and analytics to track workforce trends and program effectiveness, providing executives with the "story behind the data" to influence critical business decisions.

  • Lead Transformational Change: Proactively identify organizational hurdles and implement scalable HR solutions, leading cross-functional projects that improve team dynamics and operational efficiency across Japan.

  • Scale HR Excellence: Drive the implementation of global HR programs and policies within the region, ensuring they are localized for impact while maintaining the high standards of our global People team.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bilingual Communication Mastery: Professional fluency in reading, writing, and speaking both Japanese and English is essential to bridge communication between local leadership and global stakeholders.

  • Strategic HR Business Partnering: Extensive experience navigating organizational complexity and influencing executive-level decisions through a "business-first" lens, particularly within high-growth or technology environments.

  • Performance & Coaching Expertise: A proven ability to mentor leaders through performance management and organizational design, with the agility to shift between high-level strategy and hands-on operational execution.

  • Analytical & Technical Acumen: Strong proficiency in workforce data technology and analytics platforms, with the ability to translate raw data into compelling recommendations and actionable people solutions.

  • Change Leadership: Demonstrated competence in leading change management initiatives and thriving in unstructured environments where you can build scalable processes from the ground up.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Tokyo office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
