Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Quality Technician position located in the Franklin, IN facility.  As a Quality Technician, this position will support a variety of quality functions related to Lean deployment, gathering & reporting data and measuring performance
 

Job Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Performing testing and quality inspections in support of operations
  • Provide quality support for continuous process improvement and resolving quality issues
  • Train new operators on quality tools used in the production process
  • Participate in daily process improvement dialogue meetings and weekly continuous improvement meetings
  • Perform Pre-Delivery Inspection for Engines or components
  • Respond to Quality Gate Issues
  • Run tests and experiments to support process improvements
  • Support Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activity
  • Audit NPI processes during pilot builds
  • Static torque checks
  • Perform finished goods containment when product is suspect
  • Improve work processes, procedures, safety practices, etc.
  • Create Dozuki Standard Work instructions
  • Complete reports and tasks on a daily basis
  • Perform miscellaneous job duties as directed by manager

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
     

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience with ETQ document initiation and approval
  • Thorough understanding of Franklin’s Defect Investigation process
  • Ability to produce results in deadline-driven assignments and work with minimal supervision
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work as a team
  • Willingness to work with others to resolve problems
  • Ability to present to a group
  • Experience reading & interpreting measuring equipment (Go/ No-Go gages, length gages, diameter gauges, micrometers and masters)
  • Experience working in a Cat Remanufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of engines/engine components and manufacturing processes
  • Troubleshooting skills

Compensation & Benefits Offered!

Starting hourly pay rate of $20.59 (pay negotiations based on skills/experience)

Work Hours: 5AM – 3:30PM; Monday - Thursday

40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime

80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO)

10 Paid holidays

100% 401k match up to 6% offered on day 1 of employment

Health, dental, vision, & life insurance offered on day 1 of employment
