Compensation Range:

$17.00 - $22.10

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

The Associate Cloud Engineer will work under the direction of a Senior Cloud Architect to help establish or improve a number of operational processes and the overall security posture within the various cloud platforms utilized by the University.

NOTE: The timeframe for this role is June 2nd – August 7th, 2026

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work under direction of the Cloud Architect or project managers and assists with and/or actively lead activities pertaining to the assigned project.
  • Assists members of the organization in evaluating existing University and IT Security policies and helps to to identify additional policy needed for IT cloud infrastructure. 
  • In collaboration with Cloud Architect, uses peer institutions to assist with developing rationale for policies and guidelines appropriate for cloud services. 
  • Organizes and assists with rationalizing data gathered for proposal to governance committees and senior leadership. 
  • Assist with implementation of approved cloud security policies  
  • Other duties as assigned


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Matriculated in an undergraduate studies program in IT, business administration, healthcare administration, engineering, or related field preferred. 
  • 1+ year of work experience is preferred.
  • or an equivalent combination of education training and/or experience preferred
  • No professional work experience is required.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Technical aptitude with ability to quickly learn new technology preferred. 
  • Ability to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing preferred.
  • Solution oriented with a positive attitude preferred.
  • Strong ability to prioritize. Strong attention to detail preferred.
  • Reliable and able to establish trust with your team preferred.


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • No professional certification required. Must be able to travel to designated sites as assigned.
