Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Oversees leadership development programs for residential population (Leadership retreats, events and in-services). Provides training related to leadership development to student leaders, student staff and professional staff. Collaborates with Residential Life staff on the process of recruitment, marketing and election for college councils. Coordinates programming by partnering with Student Affairs partners through the various leadership opportunities for the residential population:
Recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates three graduate fellows. Provides support and referrals for student leaders by collaborating with Res Life staff members and campus partners.
Hires and trains Ursa’s grad fellow and Ursa’s student managers. Supervises and collaborates with advisor team to promote and market Ursa’s Nite Life. Develops social, alcohol-alternative, residential programming opportunities for students in collaboration with the staff. Specifically, manages late night programming (currently Ursa’s Nite Life).
Collaborates with Residential Life staff to design, implement, and assess programming and community development philosophy aligning with the divisional anchors and residential education goals.
Supports several department and campus-wide events such as, but not limited to, Midnight Breakfast, Res Life Alumni events, move-in, move-out, hall tours, annual office celebrations, and Bear Beginnings.
Actively participates as a member of the Residential Education Team, attending meetings, retreats, and appropriate sessions. These would include but are not limited to Residential Education meetings, professional and student staff training, and orientation. Serves on various residential life and student affairs committees and initiatives in order to maintain a strong connection to the university community and to ensure a broad array of programs. Coordinates collaborative efforts with campus organizations and other university constituents.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and three years related professional experience or equivalent education and experience to equal seven years.
