The Applications Engineer is the key technical product liaison to customers for the assigned territory. The incumbent will analyze the needs of the customer and offer reasonable and efficient product design/development engineering solutions. The successful incumbent will be responsive to the customer; this will include coordination of product materials, manufacturing process, testing, prototyping, quality, project management, and troubleshooting for successful project development and release.

 

  • Review orders and technical inquiries of Customers to recommend changes and proceed with order process for suitable hot runner system.

  • Respond to technical queries by Customers and Sales representatives.

  • Assess and analyze the applications for resin specifications, gate locations etc., and recommend simulation analysis as required for the project to ensure conclusive results then evaluate the results to suggest best solution to customers by providing the Technical Project Package (Report document);

  • Assists in the development of the recommended and optimum solutions for the Customers.

  • Review, recommend and approve any change requests for orders.

  • Ensure that Customer standards are followed on designs and jobs where applicable

  • Follow up the status of jobs through design and manufacturing with the help of administrative staff so that jobs are being carried out without any issues.

  • Keep customers and sales representatives informed.

  • Take part in technical review meetings, mold design reviews, as needed.

  • Review technical data of application, integration of hot runner system and mold design to ensure successful application of hot runner system.

  • Keep up to date with the latest technological developments and trends related to hot runners systems, CAD standards, hot halves and related components by attending training courses and industry meetings and reading specialist literature;

  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety program.

  • Ensure ISO guidelines are followed for assigned unit;

 

Education Qualification and Experience: -

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The incumbent of this role must have a degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Toll & Die), with minimum of four (4) years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Experience with 3D/2D design, SAP or an ERP is preferred. 

 

He individual should have an excellent record with Engineering, reading the any form of drawing, Sales Representatives and Manufacturing to help identify development opportunities and evaluate competitive products.  Previous experience as Process Engineer or Industrial Engineering would be an asset.  Previous experience with flow/thermal simulation as related to injection molding processes is strongly preferred.

 

A strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and excellent organizational skills are required.  The incumbent must be capable of reading and interpreting documents such as process documentation, blueprints, operating and instructions and procedure manuals.  The ability to write routine reports and to communicate effectively with, management, and customers, is a must.
