Job Description:

This accounting role supports the realization of Dimensional’s Corporate Finance Priorities by providing leadership in the Company’s financial reporting and revenue process through investments in people, process & technology. The objective of this role will be to oversee core reporting activities and drive continuous improvement and optimization of the Corporate Finance department responsible for internal and external financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in the execution and coordination of the global nature of the Company’s operations, and plays a key part in the execution of multiple automation and reporting initiatives increasingly leveraging the Company’s ERP platform, as well as driving process improvements throughout the record-to-report process. In addition, this role will be responsible for recording domestic revenues from multiple products across the Company.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reporting & Controls:

    • Generate accurate and timely financial reports while meeting established deadlines. This includes compiling data, analyzing trends, and preparing reports for management review.

    • Maintain and update existing Oracle Cloud Report inventory.

    • Provide support and training to colleagues on availability of reports and best practices. Serve as a subject matter expert on reporting software and systems.

    •  Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies, trends and opportunities for improvement. 

    • Collect, analyze, and validate data related to employee demographics, benefits enrollment, and other census-related information. Prepare and submit census reports in compliance with regulatory requirements;

  • Accounting Policy:

    •  Develop and write detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements using Oracle Cloud tools (Financial Reporting Studio, Essbase, Smartview (ERP & EPM)), in compliance with Dimensional’s Accounting Policies and internal management reporting guidelines.

    • Preparation and analysis of monthly journal entries for the Company’s domestic revenue, including mutual funds, ETFs and other products;

  • Data Integrity: Conduct thorough reviews of financial reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Perform data validation and reconciliation to identify and resolve discrepancies;

  • Audit Assist:

    •  Support the external audit processes (domestic and foreign audits) by providing necessary documentation, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

    • Functions as the enterprise subject matter expert and principal point of contact for domestic revenue, including mutual funds, ETFs and other products;

  • Vision & Strategy: Partner closely within Finance and with various departments including FP&A, Corporate Accounting, and the Financial Systems team to ensure alignment across the internal and external financial reporting landscape. Assist with the development of value- added management reporting to drive insights into financial and operating performance, as well as to promote efficiency and productivity through the distribution of accurate and meaningful financial information;

  • Continuous Improvement Continually assess financial reporting and existing data models to identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy of management reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; 

  • A minimum of five years of experience in accounting; 

  • Public Experience and CPA preferred; 

  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel and experience with Essbase or Smartview a major plus; 

  • Prior experience in financial reporting, audit support, or related areas preferred; 

  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to meet tight deadlines; 

  • Self-motivated, results driven, prefers to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment; 

  • Proven prioritization, time management and project management skills; 

  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills; 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting relationships
