Main Purpose:

Main Purpose: Responsibilities include: Overseeing Naphtha operations in the United States and making critical decisions in both physical and derivatives markets to maximize profitability. Ensuring the effective execution of sales and purchases within the U.S. Naphtha market. Providing aggressive bids to refineries with surplus Naphtha to help optimize their operations, contributing to approximately 60% of total U.S. Naphtha exports globally. Strategically purchasing and selling finished products and blend components for third-party sales while fostering essential relationships with major industry stakeholders. Developing and managing blending and storage positions, utilizing internal and third-party facilities. Conducting thorough market evaluations, analyzing trends, and collaborating with the global oil research team to assess Naphtha supply and demand. Developing proprietary trading strategies to strengthen the company’s market position. Monitoring risk management to ensure compliance with established authority limits and internal controls, drawing on expertise in financial risk management. Presenting market outlooks to the global team during biannual strategic stakeholder meetings. Managing the proprietary trading book for the U.S. Naphtha portfolio, executing trades using financial derivative products on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). Monitoring blending arbitrage opportunities to refine trading strategies and contribute to the Global Arbitrage Model, providing valuable insights for daily reports and facilitating effective communication among global oil trading teams.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

Minimum Required Education: Bachelor degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Business or International Studies or a related field. Minimum Required Experience: Must have four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of naphtha trading experience, performing each of the following duties: sourcing naphtha from diverse regions, including the Black Sea, United States, Arabian Gulf (AG), India, Pakistan, and Papua New Guinea, and selling to key markets in East Asia; managing naphtha blending operations and optimizing export logistics, such as co-loading tank products and managing FOB barrels to oversee a significant portion of a country’s exports; overseeing refinery exports, including stock progression, identifying optimal export destinations, and planning loading programs to align with refinery schedules and market opportunities; managing Bill of Lading (BL) pricing, operational tolerances, and utilizing storage to execute carry trades during market contango; negotiating and finalizing term deals with crackers and refineries; and managing financial exposures related to physical naphtha trading by using international naphtha derivatives (e.g., C5, NWE, MOPJ) and other related crude and product derivatives (e.g., Brent, WTI, RBOB) to effectively hedge risks.
