About the Role
The Commercial Finance Analyst will support Abbott Nutrition Vietnam in managing trade promotions, controlling trade spend and SG&A costs, and ensuring risk management and compliance. This role partners with Trade Sales, Customer Marketing, and Commercial Excellence to optimize financial processes and maintain integrity in reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. SG&A Spend Control (A&P and Non-A&P)
- Validate actual SG&A spending against approved proposals and contracts.
- Analyze SG&A spending and provide insights to Trade & Commercial Finance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive cost optimization through process simplification and system enhancements.
2. Risk and Compliance Management
- Business Risk: Work with Sales and Marketing teams to improve control mechanisms, enhance system controls (DMS, ERP), and validate promotions.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure all promotional activities comply with tax regulations; coordinate with Tax and Legal teams for contract reviews.
- Corporate Policy: Ensure SG&A spending aligns with Abbott’s accounting policies.
3. Business Process Management
- Establish and implement policies within Trade Sales and Marketing to ensure accurate financial records.
- Accrual Management: Validate and prepare accruals; improve processes for efficiency.
- Gift Inventory Management: Manage gift inventory from receipt to consumer delivery; enhance ERP/DMS systems for visibility and ROI measurement.
4. Consumer Promotion Management
- Ensure promotional mechanics comply with approved proposals.
- Validate actual promotion data to confirm gifts reach the right consumers under correct mechanics.
5. Other Responsibilities
- Provide regular and ad-hoc financial and operational reports.
- Identify non-value-added activities and improve efficiency.
- Communicate financial insights effectively to commercial teams.
- Adapt quickly to changes in the work environment.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in Trade Spend, Commercial Finance, or Finance & Accounting.
- Core Skills:
- Strong partnership skills with commercial functions.
- Knowledge of financial reporting principles and local tax regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Attention to detail, proactive attitude, and process improvement mindset.
