Diabetes is a pesky monster — and that’s putting it mildly. If you’re serious about helping us face it head on, come join us! For a behind-the-scenes look, check out our Monster Culture Blog, this little video and Roche code4life to see what makes mySugr and Roche tick.
Here's what we're looking for:
Developing software is great, but developing software with a purpose is even better! As a Full Stack Developer, you’ll work on a product that helps people with the most precious thing they have — their health. In collaborative teams of developers, designers, product owners, and QA experts, you’ll experience best-in-class software development practices daily and contribute to software that meets the highest expectations — we do not put our users' lives at risk!
We are looking for experienced, motivated Senior Full Stack Engineers who will work closely with their frontend and backend colleagues, as well as support our product teams. As a code-magician, you will support our efforts to make diabetes suck less. You will primarily be working in a global set-up with teams in Austria, Spain and India. You will contribute with your knowledge of frontend and backend technologies within our agile and cross-functional teams. As a flexible and open-minded person with a passion for clean code, you will be an awesome addition to our team. We are committed to quality, dedicating time to code reviews, test coverage, quality days, and CI/CD principles. If this resonates with you, we would love to hear from you!
You will be part of a new team working on web applications for Health Care Providers (HCPs).
Your upcoming mission:
You enjoy developing clean, stable, testable, and performant frontend and backend code, serving our beautiful applications
You have at least 5 years of experience working as a Software Engineer
You are passionate about solid technical design, clean code, and future-proof architectures
You have a solid understanding of the foundations of the web: HTTP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
You are familiar with React, Vue, Angular, or similar frameworks
You are familiar with the following backend technologies: Java 8+ and frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and NodeJS / Typescript
You have experience with SQL and relational databases like PostgreSQL
You have experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud providers
You love working in and supporting an interdisciplinary team, together with frontend engineers, backend engineers, QAs, designers, and product owners
You enjoy guiding and sharing your knowledge with other developers
Great written and verbal communication in English
Bonus Skills:
Experienced in developing digital products, i.e. SaaS, marketplaces, e-commerce
Understanding of medical, security, and privacy regulations
Knowledge of the diabetes industry or other comparable health industries
Here's what you can expect from us:
Ambitious and passionate people building meaningful products
An innovative agile working environment allowing for collaboration with smart people and knowledge sharing in cross-functional teams
We welcome technical evangelists, so if you are interested in any thought leadership contributions (blogs, conferences) within the realm of the organization, we are happy to support you.
Loads of benefits (brand new Apple hardware, fitness, public transport, lunch benefit, language classes, professional training budget,...)
Flexible home office policy, 5 weeks vacation
A kick-ass office with a rooftop terrace, fully stocked kitchen and amazing barista coffee machines in the middle of Vienna… oh, and did we mention the best team in the world!
You will learn about the wide range of technologies we employ, from native mobile development to infrastructure-as-code in our cloud environment, gaining a rich understanding of the specific requirements of medical software, be it security, medical risk management, safe and resilient programming, or certifications and audits.
You will have direct contact with our users, learning about their daily struggles living with diabetes, as well as customers and partners, understanding the unique needs and mechanics of healthcare systems worldwide.
