About the Role

To support the Surgery Center by assisting the physician and setting up sterile instruments and supplies to perform the scheduled procedure according to the documented physicians preferred routine for that procedure.  In addition, prepares the operating field for the procedure, and works cooperatively with the physician during the procedure.  Responsible for the Company Vision “To be the prominent urology practice, and beyond, with a reputation for delivering excellent and effective care in all urologic modalities. By providing full-service urology to the patients and communities we serve, there will be greater satisfaction as well as patient and physician loyalty which will allow US Urology Partners continued success and growth.”

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Applies the principles of aseptic technique and prescribed procedures to competently perform technician functions

  • Adheres to the sterilization process policies and procedures

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide appropriate care for patients of various age groups

  • Adheres to the procedure requirements and technician functions approved for the facility

  • Responds to emergency situations with competence and composure

  • Performs required maintenance of instruments, supplies and equipment by adhering to cleaning, care, utilization and sterilization procedures as directed

  • Performs required biological monitoring tests on all sterilizers according to established policy and procedures

  • Reports observed or suspected safety violations, hazards, and policy and procedure non-compliance to the Safety Coordinator or other designated person.

What We Expect from You

  • Licensed Practical Nursing License from an Accredited school

  • Two (2) years experience in a surgery center

  • Experience in central processing functions related to facility equipment

  • Experience or training in the disinfection/sterilization process

  • Experience with sterile procedures

  • Experience in operating room or ambulatory surgery center
