Works closely with clinical and clerical staff as well as appropriate vendors in coordinating logistics related to scheduling surgeries, imaging, and other procedures. Is the main contact for patients in providing education regarding their planned procedures. Obtains pre-authorizations for all procedures and provides cost estimate for services.

Job Type: Full Time (80 hours every two weeks)

Shift Length: Mon-Th (8a-4:30p) Fri (8a-4p)

Wage Range: $15.72-$23.21

Education Requirements:

-High school diploma/GED, or higher education

Practice Representation:

  • Greets patients in a professional and cheerful manner during all interactions.
  • Maintains professional and courteous demeanor during all phone and face to face interactions with patients and other members of the healthcare team.

Clerical:

  • Participates in maintaining a confidential, safe, patient-focused office.
  • Communicates well with clients, referral sources, families and external customers as well as with the multi-disciplinary team of providers.
  • Efficiently manages the scheduling of multiple procedures requests by multiple providers.
  • Ensures that all details are covered to ensure a smooth process for patients.
  • Maintains an organized work environment and remains efficient with multiple interruptions .

Administrative:

  • Obtains timely pre-authorization of all surgeries and imaging studies.
  • Works closely with other members of the healthcare team to schedule multiple surgeries at multiple locations.
  • Coordinates scheduling of vendor representatives, patient pre-operative medical clearances, durable medical equipment, and MRI/CT/angiograms and other prescribed testing.

Patient Consultation:

  • Provides patient education regarding all procedures, pre-op scheduling, and DME equipment.
  • Schedules all surgeries at time of patient's office visit and provides patients with surgery estimate.
  • Coordinates with billing staff in providing estimates and collecting necessary down payments.
  • Serves as patients primary contact regarding questions related to their procedures.


-Previous experience working in a physician specialist office and discussing payment arrangements with patients required

-Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required
-Ability to multi-task required
-Ability to read and write consistent with job requirements required
-General working knowledge of, and ability to use, office machines, including computers, required

-Experience managing large number of incoming phone calls preferred
