Under minimal direction, you will assess complex business problems and systems of interrelated business processes, in order to architect computer and web-based solutions. These solutions represent multi-million dollar investments in capabilities to provide strategic differentiation for the JCI Ducted Systems business.
You will be expected to provide technical leadership and direction to technology leads, architects, developers and QA support personnel for complex systems development, configuration, as well as deployment for equipment selection tools and other essential business systems.
How you will do it
Write detailed description of use cases, user needs, application functions, and steps required to develop or modify software applications.
Review computer and web-based system’s capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested application or application change is possible within existing system.
Provides 2nd level field support for customer helpdesk within the equipment selection tools.
Demonstrate leadership and provides direction for other team members of whom he or she does not directly manage.
Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve computer and web-based systems.
Confer with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports.
Study existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops new systems to improve production or workflow as required.

What we look for
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent HVAC technical experience
7 years of HVAC product knowledge and technical experience (JCI/York brands preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail
Ability to provide direction and leadership to development teams, quality assurance, and other influences
The ability to think logically and analytically in problem-solving environment
Willingness to establish and enable strong working relationships with team members
General knowledge of Windows and Web applications
Must possess imaginative abstract reasoning ability
Must be self-reliant and able to work independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The ability to accept and own responsibility and drive for business results
The capacity and desire to gain a thorough knowledge of product functions and capabilities
Willingness to continuously update personal and professional skills/knowledge and general commitment to continuous improvement
Ability to travel occasionally (less than 10%)
Preferred
Software development lifecycle experience
Experience with both Agile and Waterfall software methodologies
