NPI Manufacturing Engineering Technician

As a NPI Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you will perform various analyses, and/or assembly tasks related to manufacturing engineering projects. You will play a critical role in the successful introduction of new products in our manufacturing process. With a deep understanding of engineering principles and project management, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams in helping to release new products on-time, within budget, and meeting all quality standards. You will develop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequence, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. You will estimate manufacturing costs and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Your role will include analyzing quality indicators to determine root cause and maintaining records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations and to continually improve future product launches.

Your Challenge:

  • Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products

  • Provide early assembly on new products under development to identify improvements that can be made prior to release

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans

  • Collaborate with cross functional design team to ensure manufacturability of new products

  • Review and maintain detailed project plans and timelines

  • Monitor and report on project progress and performance

  • Identify and resolve production issues and bottlenecks

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements

  • Conduct process validation and qualification activities

  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing teams

  • Develop and maintain documentation for new products and processes

  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on product designs

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency

  • Analyze production data and implement corrective actions as needed

  • Support cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects

  • Ensure proper handover of new products to production teams

  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities

  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure product reliability

  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring:

  • Associates degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, or Operations or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in new product introduction and/or electromechanical assembly

  • Strong project management skills

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Experience with process validation and qualifications

  • Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements

  • Strong communication and people skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment

  • Experience with LEAN Management a plus

  • Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP, and proficient with MS Office tools 

  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications 

  • Knowledge of basic electronic and mechanical assembly principles 

  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines

  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development

  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
