Seeking a Safety Training Professional to lead regional safety training and reinforce consistent, safe work practices across the region; frequent travel required.

Location: Regional. Prefer candidates in Albuquerque, NM; Artesia, NM; Phoenix, AZ; Amarillo, TX; Lubbock, TX; Fort Worth, TX

The Safety Training Professional plays a key role in advancing Groendyke’s strong safety culture by supporting the Safety team in continuous improvement of safety values, mission, and performance metrics. This position leads regional safety initiatives and promotes consistent, safe, and efficient work practices that support safety and loss prevention goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support regional safety training initiatives across the assigned area.

  • Promote Groendyke’s safety values, mission, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Reinforce consistent, safe, and efficient work practices across the region.

  • Support loss prevention efforts and safety performance goals.

  • Partner with regional leaders and employees to reinforce safety expectations and behaviors.

  • Communicate field observations, trends, and feedback to help strengthen programs and practices.

  • Travel frequently to deliver training and provide on-site support.
     

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma required; equivalent experience may substitute.

  • Extensive experience in safety or a related field required.

  • Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA requirements required.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability and sound judgment required.

  • Class A CDL preferred; tanker and hazmat endorsements preferred.

  • Driver Instructor experience preferred.

  • Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Strong passion for safety and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences and personality types.

  • HAZWOPER certification preferred.

  • Strong organizational and process orientation with a focus on standardization.
     

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.

  • Experience with Geotab, Samsara, Workday, and Smartsheet preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides day-to-day direction during classroom and hands-on training sessions and may coordinate training support resources for groups of up to 15+ participants periodically. This role has no direct reports.

Work Environment
The work environment is primarily office-based, with frequent travel and regular time in field and operational settings. Occasional indoor and outdoor physical activity is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, with walking and standing as needed.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs may be required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking, hearing, and seeing.

  • Must be able to meet respiratory protection requirements, including a Pulmonary Function Test and respirator qualification.
