Cboe is one of the World’s largest Exchange operators. The Enterprise System Engineering team is responsible for building and maintaining the servers, storage, OS, and configuration of all back-office environments. As a member of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with the latest hardware, build in-house automation and monitoring tools, and make meaningful contributions to the company.   

As an Enterprise Systems Engineer specializing in Data Backup and Protection you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Cboe’s backup and recovery solutions, including ensuring data protection and compliance with company policies and industry standards. You will work closely with other Infrastructure and Operations teams to integrate and support their systems in the Global backup solution. 

Additional responsibilities include:  

  • Monitor backup job status, performance, and health 

  • Implement backup policies, schedules, and retention periods 

  • Perform regular testing of backup and recovery procedures 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve backup-related issues and failures 

  • Perform regular audits of storage and backup systems to ensure data integrity and security 

  • Ensuring key systems are highly available and continue functioning during a disaster  

  • Building and maintaining thorough monitoring tools that clearly show problems and minimize false positives  

  • Participate in on-call rotation that consists of periodic daytime on-call and infrequent weekend on-call 

  • Build processes with accurate documentation and be able to cross train others 

The ideal candidate has:  

  • 5+ years of experience in an enterprise setting 

  • Previous experience and excellent knowledge of Backup Technologies Commvault, Netbackup, Rubrik, or similar solution 

  • Knowledge and experience troubleshooting the following technologies:  

  • Very good knowledge of Windows 2016/2019/2022 Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, Exchange Server, DFS, SMTP, SQL Server  

  • Automation and configuration management systems like SCCM  

  • Understanding of PowerShell to drive efficiencies through automation of repeatable processes  

  • VMware vSphere 

  • Understanding of Certificate management and deployment 

  • Good analytical and team player skills  

  • Great customer service and communication skills
