Senior Hardware Validation Technical Program Manager – Hybrid Solutions (Poly)

Description -

The Senior Hardware (HW) Validation Technical Program Manager (TPM) is a critical role within the HP Hybrid Solutions (Poly) team. This position requires a knowledgeable and experienced as HW Validation TPM, with responsibilities to include the delivery of the videoconferencing products qualification through the planning and execution of HP Poly Video Product HW functional test process, in order to meet customer requirements while ensuring the highest quality video products.  

The position will be responsible for working with a global design team to understanding the HW specification, developing project level of HW test strategy and test planning on videoconferencing products over multiple projects with outsourced development partners and providing ODM test execution oversight and direction, execution of test audit, support for critical issue characterization and debug, understanding and maintaining issue tracking through the appropriate records database, and tracking project qualification progress and status for the HP Hybrid Solutions (Poly) product development team and management. Central to the success of this role is the ability to drive execution at ODM vendors with aggressive schedules and interface with a multinational team to solve complex technical issues using data-driven decision-making, and experience in delivering mass-produced hardware.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement test standards, processes, tools and methodologies (like test case, testers, test devices, test tools & planning/schedule) over multiple projects; partners with engineering teams to establish testing requirements and test plans with high level of testing competence. And this is a MUST.

  • Communicate the testing status during whole development phase, like test progress, critical/blocked issues, resolutions and specific features with project system team or internal management team.

  • Translate all requirements into executable daily operation with ODM project team; remote lead the project team and do knowledge transfer to them.

  • Work cross-functionally with key partners to deliver product definition meeting feature, quality and user experience goals.

  • Identify opportunities for optimization.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering field; Electrical, Computer, Technology.

  • 10+ years relevant work experience performing in a demanding/schedule driven R&D environment and test experience.

  • Familiar with Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) hardware validation methodology, processes, and test tools.

  • ARM-based product expereience is a must.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of hardware (i.e. SI/PI/EMC..etc)/firmware/software architecture.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, work within defined policies and practices, determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

  • Appropriate project management skills necessary to successfully deliver project qualification objectives while effectively engaging with ODM partners,

  • Applies appropriate risk management skills - understands risk concepts, assesses risk qualitatively, and uses relevant techniques to measure performance and progress of ODM partners in order to mitigate risk to deliverables,

  • Strong commitment to excellence, dedication, team player, self-motivation, and with good communication skills.

  • Must have good English communication skills (verbal and written).
