Job Summary

Participate in the System Verification and Validation of the products within the Air Traffic Management Tower (ATM) Products group. Areas of responsibility include test analysis, development, and certification testing of ATM Software Releases.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Validate the capability of systems to meet functional and non-functional requirements of air traffic operations.
  • Ensure the integrity of the System Certification Test process for ATM products.
  • Participate in the investigation of reported field issues.
  • Provide risk assessment for field and internal issues.

Job Requirements

Education:

Graduation from a recognized university or community college with a degree/certification in Computer Sciences/Information Technology, Engineering OR an acceptable combination of education, related experience and training.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience with system testing, test engineering principles and validation of complex real-time systems.
  • Experience writing test documentation (Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Strategies, Test Reports)
  • Experience conducting functional and non-functional testing.
  • Experience using requirement management, change management and quality management tools such as JAZZ, JIRA, and Azure DevOps.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of system test plans, testing methodologies, testing tools and testing techniques
  • Knowledge of Software Development Methodologies such as Agile, SAFe and, DevSecOps
  • Knowledge of Review processes
  • Knowledge of current industry trends in software/system testing.
  • Working knowledge of the certification standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of ATM products such as IIDS, EXCDS, NARDS, TESS-R and WARP is an asset.

Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze operational requirements and prepare appropriate System Test Plans, Test Cases and Test Scripts.
  • Ability to provide accurate effort estimates, track schedule, and provide timely reports.
  • Ability to quickly understand customers’ needs and knowledgeably discuss test/requirements issues with tact.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, solve complex problems and to define & implement practical solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Working conditions:

  • Travel maybe required.
  • This position is based in Ottawa and is classified as a hybrid role, requiring multiple days onsite.
