Our location in Abbott Park, IL currently has an opportunity for a Manager, Finacial Planning and Analysis which is part of our Nutrition business.

The Manager, Finacial Planning and Analysis will have key responsibilities supporting the Nutrition Information Technology group and the Planning and Reporting processes for Abbott’s $8Bn revenue nutrition division. This position is responsible for supporting the financial analysis behind key projects implemented by the IT leaders across the globe and leading certain aspects of the process, as well as support Senior Leadership with Investor Relations analysis and reporting and Market Date analysis. The position will also identify/assess/implement process improvements within the scope of the position, assist with the planning (Rolling Latest Best Estimate RLBE) and reporting process and an array of ad-hoc FP&A activities for Abbott Nutrition Senior Leadership. Nutrition is an end-to-end international business with R&D, procurement, manufacturing, marketing and selling activities; thus, financial support centers around the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and exchange rate analysis. Some of the highlights of the position are: support to the Division Controller, the IT Strategy and Planning Directors and the Investor Relations group in Corporate as well as exposure to a wide range of strategic projects, opportunity to learn about the AN brands and customers and work with other AN Divisions and Corporate FP&A.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist the LBE/Plan processes from a headquarters perspective: generate calendars, create financial templates, coordinate process with the Nutrition sub-divisions (Commercial, Manufacturing, R&D), consolidate financials, ensure timely and accurate submissions to Corporate.
  • Support the IT Capital projects process: coordinate with the IT Project Managers (PMO) the needs of capital and capital expenditures for the AN strategic projects, including follow up support to solve open items within the different AN organizations.
  • Provide financial analysis including variance analysis vs. benchmarks for IT projects and bring numbers to life to drive better understanding and decision making (cash flow, ROI, variances, benchmarks, etc.).
  • Review and provide financial advice to the PMOs (Project Managers) to prepare the Request for Capital Expenditures approval template.
  • Support preparation of executive level presentations for internal reviews and actively participate in the AN IT staff meeting.
  • Preparation of the IT budget forecast and variance analysis vs. benchmarks.
  • Act as the main liaison between the different global Finance and IT Organizations.
  • Preparation of the Investor Relation report (sales) including extensive analysis of variances and commentary appropriate for the audience (Corporate Sr. leaders).
  • Preparation of the competitor analysis report and consolidation and analysis of global Market Data.
  • Actively support various ad-hoc financial requests – division, corporate, including Financial modeling with extensive use of Excel.
  • Assist in identification and implementation of process improvements, as well as the documentation of key processes.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance
  • Minimum 6 years of combined Finance/Accounting experience is required. 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, variance analysis skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and with senior management.
  • Effective communication, soft skills and prioritization of assignments.
  • Executive presentation experience desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (mainly Excel and Power Point).
  • Proficiency in HFM/CCI, SAP and Host Analytics is a plus.

The base pay for this position is

$95,000.00 – $190,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
