Summery of the Role

To support the Dresden Subsidy Team, we are seeking a Principal Financial Analyst based in Sofia/Bulgaria. This role is an integral part of our international Finance organization, providing analytical and operational support for public funded projects. The position focuses on supporting the Dresden-based team in all activities with a strong focus on data preparation, reporting, and financial analysis. You will collaborate closely with the Dresden Team and other cross-functional departments in multiple regions. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuous monitoring of public funded projects with regard to deviations from plan, compliance with funding decisions, and applicable legal frameworks  Preparation, processing, and validation of financial and project-related data for subsidy management 

  • Responsibility for data preparation for cash requests of funding projects through structured data collection and analysis 

  • Execution of accounting tasks related to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for funded projects 

  • Preparation of internal close reporting and analyses for the Dresden Subsidies Team 

  • Support in the preparation of audit documentation and internal controls  Contribution to continuous improvement of reporting processes and data structures

  • Close collaboration with the Dresden team and other cross-functional departments 

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a comparable field 

  • Experience in finance, accounting, controlling, or data analysis 

  • Strong analytical mindset and high attention to detail 

  • Fluent German (written and spoken) is required; strong English communication skills are also expected 

  • Ability to work independently while being closely aligned with an international team 

  • Broad experience with MS Office applications, especially Excel 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, global environment

  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate constructively across teams and regions
