Summary
 

Provides depth of pharmacy underwriting capabilities and increases capacity to build and maintain financial models, plan design and pricing strategies and support trend analysis for self-funded clients. Assists management by measuring financial risk and performance at the client level and the line of business level. Reviews information and data and makes recommendation for pharmacy cost structure/cash flow improvements. Complies with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.


Description
 

Evaluate and recommend pharmacy revenue strategies for self- funded customers and lines of business while retaining the competitive nature of the pharmacy benefit management offering. Identifies avenues to achieve optimal revenues, including spread pricing, rebate sharing and administrative fees related to the pharmacy benefit management services. Collaborate with the Sales and Proposal teams to project pricing and profit for a range of Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) services and products offered.

Support overall effort to win new business and retain current clients, while leveraging business knowledge to propose solutions to business challenges regularly in a dynamic work environment.

Build and maintain financial models to assist in the economic analysis of market alternatives.

Gather, summarize and analyze detailed data.

Required Education: Bachelor's

Degree Equivalency: 4 years job related work experience or Associate's and 2 years job related work experience.

Required Work Experience:
6 years of underwriting experience

Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, customer service, oral and written communication skills. Excellent mathematical, analytical and critical thinking skills. Good judgment. Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion. Proficient spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Extensive knowledge of underwriting and risk principles and their application.

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.

Degree Equivalency:
4 years of underwriting experience

Preferred Specialized Training:
Insurance course work in FLMI, HIAA, or BCA

Preferred Work Experience:
7 years of underwriting experience
