Job Summary:

The Red Hat Technical Training team in Japan is looking for a Learning and Development Instructor to support our training deliveries across Japan. In this role, you'll deliver training programs and certifications to our customers and partners. As a Senior instructor you will also assess learning needs and create learning plans for customer teams. Partner instructors will depend on your guidance and support. You will need excellent communication skills and experience in Red Hat technical trainings.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Red Hat Training classes

  • Facilitate Red Hat certification exams

  • Guide discussions with customers to scope training needs

  • Coordinate with the Consulting team for consulting engagements

  • Assist the Training Services Sales team in sales initiatives to grow the training business

  • Act as a technical account manager for a dedicated set of training partners; help them train instructors and assist them as they grown their business

  • Work with the Global Certification and Curriculum team to design and test new courses and certifications

  • Build and deliver customized courses

  • Participate in internal projects and pilots as needed to ensure offerings are effective prior to wide-scale general availability

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of industry experience and knowledge of the following:

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or ability to pursue certification within 30 days of being hired, additional Certifications a plus

  • Knowledge of and experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and container technologies like Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker

  • Knowledge of application architecture (application servers, integration patterns, microservices, JEE, CI/CD, build management, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Automation technologies like Ansible, Puppet, Chef,...

  • Experience with application development or application modernization

  • Solid background in Linux or UNIX system administration and deployment

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels throughout the organization

  • Exceptional course facilitation and management skills

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%

  • Virtual training facilitation experience

  • Initiative and team-oriented with a positive attitude and enthusiasm

  • Demonstrated ability to work both on your own and as a member of a collaborative team

The following are considered as a plus:

  • Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), or additional certifications toward higher RHCE levels especially on OpenShift & Ansible.

  • English speaking skills
