Dow Brasil has a great job opportunity for a talented Senior Project Engineer, located in Aratu (Brazil)
About you and this role - What you would do in this role
Reporting to the Aratu Engineering Leader, the Senior Project Engineer will coordinate de development, execution and implementation of Intermediated and Critical Capital investments for Aratu site and other sites in Brazil. The incumbent will become a key member of the Brazil Engineering team and be a key contributor of safe, efficient, and reliable Project Execution methods and practices throughout the region.
Responsibilities
Responsible for comprehensive planning, organization, staffing and execution of Large and Intermediate size Projects during the project life cycle, including engineering and construction.
Drive project execution and coach team on application of the Global Project Methodology (GPM) work process for Large and intermediate size projects, according to Dow’s processes.
Coordinate the design engineering, procurement, and construction activities throughout the project life cycle.
Develop and agree on the required staffing plans with key stakeholders and resource holders to assure project success
Lead the project execution planning, including the development and implementation of contracting strategies.
Coordinate, assemble, validate, analyze and communicate the project risks as well as develop the respective mitigation plans.
Develop, monitor and manage the project schedule and cost assuring the projects reach its expected deliverables. Enable and promote a robust change control system for schedule and cost
Interface with EPCm Team for Discipline support. Supports interfaces with the ES Org. for SME support Assure all involved functions (technical and Core disciplines, Controls, Construction, Project Engineering, etc) are well represented and in agreement with project progress and decisions
Lead initiatives to continuously improve project execution methods, focusing on efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation.
Interfaces and coordinates the relationship with IPA, if required. Assure all gates and required steps with IPA are successfully applied.
Responsible for the formal (documented) communication process with the EPC / Construction Contractor. Assure safe and comprehensive contracts assuring effectiveness of third-party support
Monitors and reports Engineering progress and Procurement, Logistics, Safety, Schedule, Cost and Quality performance
Promote strong communication with and within all team members, key and local stakeholders, global SMEs and impacted organizations.
Ensure implementation of constructability concepts and proper Construction expectations and deliverables.
Identify and take corrective action (with appropriate approval) to ensure the project goals for cycle-time, cost, and quality are met.
Drive the overall construction effort with best-in-class safety leadership, inspection and quality assurance processes, and efficient labor and material marshaling at the construction.
Deliver as built and operations/maintenance documentation to the facility.
Document key project measurements and learning experiences in the Project Closure Report
Implement and monitor quality initiatives to ensure that all deliverables across the organization meet the highest standards of quality and compliance
Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging the team to explore new technologies, methodologies, and best practices to enhance outcomes.
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required.
Advanced in the English language
Qualifications:
The project engineer should have a broad technical or industrial background, 10 years of work experience is required.
Coordination or significant contribution of meaningful Industrial or Metallurgical investment projects is required.
Project Experience in different project phases is highly desirable.
Discipline Engineer experience in different project phases is a plus.
Knowledge or exposure of the different engineering disciplines is preferred.
Knowledge in project management processes like PMBOK and/or FEL.
The capacity to successfully function within a cross functional team is critical.
Communications, interpersonal skills, and the ability to build networks will be essential to foster team success and accomplish the project objectives.
The project engineer will have a considerable number of interfaces between multiple projects and organizations including substantial dealings with selected contractors.
Able to deliver the expected results in harmony with the project team, stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
Exhibits focus on issues resolution, project quality, continuous improvement and innovative & collaborative approaches
Ability to coach up and across the organizations, coach across to roles of related work processes in other organizations.
