Job Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE) will lead initiatives to ensure the highest quality standards in manufacturing processes and product development at Magna Electronics. This role focuses on implementing robust quality systems, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in quality engineering, preferably in the automotive or electronics industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality tools and systems (APQP, PPAP, SPC, Minitab, FMEA).
  • Proficiency in problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with automation, SMT processes, and PCB manufacturing is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Preferred Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) by ASQ or equivalent.
  • Preferred ISO/IATF internal auditor certification.
  • Preferred Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification.
  • Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Proven experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

  • Develop and implement Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) deliverables, including control plans, PPAPs, and quality manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment with DFMEA and PFMEA outcomes.
  • Support the integration of traceability systems, automation, and Industry 4.0 technologies into quality processes.
  • Lead problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa diagrams.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with production teams to improve first-pass yield, reduce scrap, and enhance overall process capability.
  • Facilitate kaizen events and implement lean tools to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues during launch, including customer complaints and audits.
  • Lead the response to customer concerns during launch, ensuring timely root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Conduct quality reviews with customers to ensure satisfaction and alignment with expectations.
  • Conduct Gage R&R, capability studies (CP/CPK), and other validation activities for new and existing equipment.
  • Develop and monitor statistical process controls (SPC) to ensure consistent quality output.
  • Perform internal audits and support third-party audits to identify areas for improvement
