About Us

Galileo is a team-based medical practice working to improve the quality and affordability of health care for all. Operating across 50 states, Galileo offers high-touch, data-driven, multi-specialty, longitudinal care to diverse and complex patients—on the phone, in the home, and everywhere in between. Regional and national health plans, employers, and Fortune 500 organizations trust Galileo as the leading solution to improve population health. Founded by Dr. Tom X. Lee, the healthcare pioneer behind One Medical and Epocrates, Galileo is a team of leading innovators from healthcare, technology, and human-centered design. Our mission is to apply that talent and scientific thinking to transform society by solving our largest, toughest healthcare problems, while at the same time bringing patient and provider closer.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to our Operations Leader, this role will be responsible for ensuring we provide high-quality care in the field to patients unable to access care by traditional means.- in our patient’s homes as well as in our mobile clinic. You will own the driving and coordination of our mobile medical clinic (a converted Sprinter van). Additionally, you’ll support our providers as eyes, ears, and hands in the field.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Drive and operate our mobile clinic, keep the vehicle fueled, arrange and manage needed repairs and maintenance, and keep mileage and repair records up-to-date.
  • Coordinate our mobile clinic —help to coordinate and schedule clinic days within the community and ensure the clinic is stocked and maintained for effective care and an amazing patient experience.
  • Support care team members’ travel to patient homes and accompany them for in-home or mobile clinic care delivery.
  • Serve as a Galileo ambassador in the field, representing our care model well and engaging with patients, family members, and the broader community.

ABOUT YOU

A successful Mobile Unit Driver should embody an ownership mindset; being both organized and focused on the many details necessary for smooth operations, while also a creative problem solver with an eye towards always making things better.  You have a warm service mentality and optimistic attitude, eager to provide support internally to the rest of the care team as well as externally to patients and your community.  This role will primarily focus on serving some of our more rural populations as we provide easier access to behavioral health resources.  You don't need any behavioral health experience, but a passion for providing access to those who traditionally don't have it is a great start!

This role covers a wide geographic territory, spanning across the the Syracuse, NY region. While visit volume may sometimes be low, this role does include considerable travel, sometimes driving longer distances to provide care to vulnerable populations in more remote locations. This is not a remote role and requires in person travel, interaction, and support of our clinical teams and patient populations.

We would love to hear from you if you have the following or equivalent experience:

  • Have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and experience operating large vehicles (such as buses, shuttles, trailers, ambulances, etc.)
  • Exceptional organization and time management; strong sense of ownership ensuring last-mile execution
  • Ability to work up to 3 days per week with flexibility with changing patient needs.
  • Comfort and experience interacting with patients - embodying human centeredness, building rapport easily and putting our patients at ease - you'll be assisting our teams as they provide care.
  • Ability to facilitate planning, scheduling and coordination processes and able to comfortably work within multiple systems / eager to learn new technology and workflows
  • For the safety of our patients and staff, employees in this role must be fully vaccinated, including a booster, with an FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccination.

Compensation: $18-25/hr
