As the Head of Infrastructure Security Engineering at Vanguard, you will lead large team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure security platforms for our cloud and data center networks, safeguarding them against emerging threats and vulnerabilities. Drawing on your extensive expertise in cybersecurity, cloud architecture, and engineering, as well as vulnerability management, you will elevate our ability to address evolving security challenges across our multi-cloud (AWS, GCP, and Azure) environments.

What you will do:

  • Lead the planning and implementation of new security technologies and major releases for critical enterprise-wide IT cloud platform projects. Drive the design, implementation, and deployment of cloud security systems aligned with business needs. Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for improvement and performance enhancements.
  • Guide a team of experts in providing technical support and ensuring the reliable operation of cloud production environments. Develop processes and methodologies for diagnosing and troubleshooting security issues in cloud computing systems. Implement leading-edge security technologies to enhance infrastructure performance while maintaining comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.
  • Develop auditing methodologies and architecture to effectively manage and safeguard data in cloud computing environments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, partnering with stakeholders across the enterprise to identify and address cybersecurity needs. Consult with executive leadership to align security initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff on processes and technologies, fostering their professional growth. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues escalated from staff members, while updating, writing, and maintaining documentation for the department.
  • Lead system administration activities and develop best practices for systems analysis, including system requirements analysis, definition, and logical design. As a leader of leaders, manage a team of approximately 70 crew member with three direct manager reports.

    What it takes:
  • Depth in Cloud Security Engineering: Demonstrated expertise in cloud security engineering and architecture, with a proven track record of implementing robust security measures in cloud environments.
  • Cloud computing expertise in AWS required, preferred to have multi-cloud architecture: AWS, Azure and GCP.
  • Executive Communication: Strong ability to influence and communicate effectively at an executive level, translating technical concepts into business insights and recommendations.
  • Leadership Acumen: Exceptional leadership skills, with experience leading large teams and driving strategic initiatives. Experience as a leader of leaders, managing direct reports and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Education and Experience:  Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of training and experience. A graduate degree is preferred. Minimum of twelve years of related work experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on cloud security.
