The Program Manager is primarily responsible for managing large IT projects across multiple workstreams and coordinating with in larger program timelines and objectives.  Experience creating project charters, defining, and managing scope, and tracking progress or milestones will be critical for the role. The Program Manager should also have a background coordinating with third-party vendors for system integrations, implementations, and rollouts. A PMP certification will be a ‘plus’ but is not required for consideration.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning

  • Create and execute project/program plans. Revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Facilitate definition of project/program scope and objectives.

Project Resourcing

  • Engage resources that are required to deliver project/program and meet schedule, cost, and risk objectives.
  • Ensure work estimates are valid, tracked, and managed.
  • Manages and prioritizes workload of self/team and delegate where appropriate considering team member strengths and development needs.
  • Motivate and empower effective work teams.

Managing Project

  • Leverage project and program management best practices to track progress and drive results toward overall program objectives.
  • Identify and manage program risks/issues. Recognize and determine the appropriate corrective action to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget and scope.
  • Consistently plan and monitor time, scope, resources, and budget.
  • Provide strong project management skills for programs or large projects; ensures team is aware of the plan and deliverables.
  • Builds relationships and foster collaboration to instill trust.

Project Delivery 

  • Complete projects/programs effectively and efficiently while maintaining a high level of proficiency.
  • Plan, lead, and provide oversight for driving multiple complex projects/programs to completion; identifies and resolves issues; monitors and addresses constraints/risks; anticipates and clearly communicates needs. • Create and maintain project/program documentation. 
  • Partner with IT teams, business, and third-party vendors to continually make progress on project/program activities. 

Project Leadership

  • Mentoring of other project managers
  • Focus on continuous improvement of project/program delivery
  • Partner with Portfolio Leaders and Product Owners to develop product/program strategy roadmap.

Education: (MUST NOTE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • PMI certification (PMP, PMI-ACP) or other relevant Agile project management certifications (CSM, CSPO) is a 'plus'.

Technical/Soft Skills (MUST NOTE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED)

  • Experience leading multiple large projects and programs with budgets over $200,000. 
  • Experience delivering IT products and services.
  • Solid understanding of IT Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Disciplined Agile, SAFe).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to create effective documents and review them with key project stakeholders and multiple levels of the organization.
  • Experience managing multiple projects/programs of moderate to high risk.
  • Experience managing projects/programs utilizing Agile methodologies, including PI Planning.
  • Strategic planning experience.
  • Effective organization and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within multiple levels of the firm.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of personalities.

Experience

  • 8-10 years of project management experience.
  • 4+ years of program management experience.
  • 3-5 years of Agile experience.  
  • Microsoft Office skills (Project, SharePoint, OneNote).

Leadership Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to impact and influence a diverse population.
  • Demonstrated ability to support, affect, and implement change.
  • Experience interacting with and managing expectations of senior level management.
