Responsibilities:

  • Sustaining engineering of the existing product program through self-driven initiation and coordination of optimization measures, continuous further development and improvement measures (cockpit), identification of cost reduction potential through the preparation of value analyses as well as the coordination of their implementation (VA/VE - Value Analysis Value Engineering). Provision of technical data for marketing documents, independent initiation and provision of product-relevant certificates and test reports (fire protection, certificates of conformity, RoHS -Restriction of Hazardous Substances and REACH Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals declarations, etc.), as well as necessary external test certificates, etc. Regional monitoring and execution of worldwide uniform product specifications for Global Core Range products in cooperation with the Global Technical Product Managers
  • Initiation and management of product innovations, including the responsible definition of development specifications for new products and product enhancements, management of project teams within the framework of our APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process up to the market launch, contribution of special technical and product knowhow to the development of technical solutions, coordination and independent assessment of product developments on the basis of measurement results, including the selection of suitable, usually complex measurement, analysis and evaluation procedures
  • Responsible technical support of internal functions (production, purchasing, controlling, sales and quality control, etc.) for difficult product-related technical issues, including complicated damage analyses, e.g. in the case of complaints, independent product assessments and product releases, as well as technical review of product cost calculations. This includes the independent processing and answering of difficult product-related technical customer inquiries, occasionally also on-site in the field within the region.
  • Supporting the market segments in defining product policy and positioning through product-specific expertise, through systematic analysis of the own product range in comparison with strategic competitors (benchmark) and of market trends and new technologies. Product roadmaps are to be defined in order to exploit synergies across the market segments and to balance out the different requirements of the market segments
  • Monitor the national and international industry standards and guidelines relevant for the region and the assigned product groups and drive them regionally by active participation in various national/regional associations and standardization bodies as well as regional subsidiaries of international associations and standardization bodies. All these activities should be in close collaboration with the Regional Director, Market Segment Managers and Global Technical Product Managers
  • Development and transfer of special expertise within regional conferences, internal and external training as well as (customer) seminars in the region, and knowledge transfer within FFT (Freudenberg Filtration Technologies). Review and monitoring of external patents and patent applications in cooperation with the Global Technical Product Managers, the Regional Director and with the Global (Freudenberg & Co.) patent department and initiation of appropriate measures incl. deadline monitoring

Qualifications:

  • Master degree from a reputed university in chemical or process engineering or mechanical engineering or technical textiles or alike
  • Product Management, Product life cycle analysis and management
  • Strong knowledge of FMEAs (Failure Modes and Effect Analysis)
  • Knowledge of Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative, self-organized, structured and team oriented
  • Willingness and ability for short term global traveling. Ability to work in a multicultural environment
