Do Work That Matters
This role is about creating clear ownership, stronger governance and better transition readiness across core applications. You’ll help keep critical platforms stable, controlled and fit for purpose, while partnering across Technology, Operations, Risk, Delivery and business teams to reduce risk and support safe movement away from legacy platforms. You’ll do that in an environment shaped by large-scale transformation, modern service domains and a strong focus on better customer and staff outcomes.

  • Lead the management and continuous improvement of core applications and transition readiness across the estate.

  • Build a clear view of application ownership, health, dependencies, risks and lifecycle priorities.

  • Partner with Technology to monitor incidents, defects, technical debt and remediation priorities.

  • Strengthen governance for stability, release impacts, controls and operational readiness.

  • Coordinate with delivery and transformation teams to manage dependencies between legacy platforms and new capability.

  • Help simplify processes, retire duplication and reduce reliance on manual workarounds.

  • Provide clear reporting on application risk, stability, transition progress and decision points.

  • Build strong relationships across Technology, Risk, Operations and business teams to drive sustainable outcomes.

  • Bring advanced capability in application lifecycle management and legacy transition planning.

  • Have strong experience in operational risk management, governance and control frameworks.

  • Can assess incidents, technical debt, release impacts and readiness in a practical, outcome-focused way.

  • Are comfortable working across business and technology to align priorities, dependencies and decisions.

  • Can turn complexity into clear actions, reporting and governance routines that help teams move safely.

  • Bring strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the credibility to work across senior leaders, delivery teams and operational partners.
