Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) acts as the principal liaison for all quality-related matters pertaining to supplier-delivered products. This position requires close cooperation with key departments such as Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Logistics. The SQE’s primary goal is to drive continuous improvement in supplier quality, thereby minimizing defects and reducing costs related to quality issues. Furthermore, the SQE is responsible for developing and strengthening the supply base to align with business requirements.

  • Support the identification, scouting, and selection of potential new suppliers
  • Qualify suppliers according to company standards
  • Conduct periodic audits to verify and ensure compliance with company requirements
  • Lead suppliers in executing root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and support the development of robust corrective actions (CA)
  • Review the results of on-the-job inspections in accordance with Quality Control Plans
  • Assist suppliers with Deviation Request (SDR) management
  • Manage supplier-related Non-Conformity Records (NCR)
  • Provide technical support to the buyer, engineering team, or BOM team to effectively manage purchasing needs

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or minimum 5 years of work experience in quality, engineering or testing department
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specification
  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • Proficiency in PC and office software
  • Willingness to travel frequently

Desired Characteristics:

  • Awareness of quality system requirements and ISO9001
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, NDT method, surface preparation and painting
  • Effective problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of Turbo machinery products. (Gas/steam turbine, Compressor)
  • Understanding of Six Sigma methodologies
  • NCA/RCA leader
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Highly motivated and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attitude to set aggressive targets and challenge the status quo
  • Strong communication skills, both internally with different functions and externally with suppliers
  • Structured, data-driven mindset. Intellectual rigor, accuracy, and proactivity
  • Ability to deliver results, meet deadlines, and learn quickly
