Position Summary
CVS Media Exchange (CMX) is one of the fastest growing lines of businesses at CVS. Our comprehensive advertising solution leverages CVS's in-store and online data and extensive reach to provide measurable outcomes for our clients. The Ads Innovation Pod on CMX designs and builds the core algorithmic components of the Ads Hubs system including measurement, pacing, in-flight optimization, etc.


As a Lead Data Scientist on the team, you will work on the architecting, designing and implementing the end-to-end system, and implementing new algorithms to make our systems more efficient and performant.

We are seeking experienced candidates who have a proven track record in building Ads Delivery systems to join our team and contribute to our accelerated growth. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep passion for comprehending intricate systems, possess a natural curiosity to explore the reasons behind system behaviors, exhibit the drive to conduct research and propose innovative system designs, and approach problem-solving with a pragmatic mindset.

What You Will Do

  • Develop statistical, optimization, and machine learning models for various applications within the Retail Media Network domain, such as measurement, in-flight optimization, pacing, and ranking.
  • Plan and implement product experiments, analyzing the outcomes to derive insightful and actionable conclusions.
  • Leverage data analysis to gain insights into product performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Effectively communicate findings to senior management and guide strategic business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines such as product, engineering, and marketing to drive system development end-to-end from ideation to production.

Hybrid schedule 3 days weekly in the NYC/Soho office.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of industry experience as an Applied or Data Scientist or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience with underlying mathematical foundations of statistics, machine learning, optimization, economics, and analytics.
  • 4+ years of strong programming skills in Python with the ability to develop scalable production-ready solutions for processing and analyzing large data sets efficiently
  • 1+ years of experience in system design and architecture.
  • Experience in experimental design and analysis.
  • 4+ years of experience using Python and SQL to work efficiently at scale with large data sets.
  • Proven track-record of mentoring junior team members with code and solution quality


Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of industry experience.
  • Skilled in Software Development life cycle and best practices.
  • Experience in algorithm development and prototyping.
  • Experience in building Ads Delivery systems.
  • Experience with productionizing algorithms for near real-time systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Education

Ph.D., M.S., or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Economics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$142,140.00 - $284,280.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
