Position Purpose: Provide legal advice and services management concerning state and federal law, regulations and other requirements applicable to Centene business activities and initiatives

  • Serves as a lead resource to Centene departments and entities for research and interpretation of specific healthcare law, policies and regulations

  • Provides legal advice to Centene entities to define and develop solutions to regulatory requirements that impact various product lines and programs

  • Reviews regulations, RFPs and other documents affecting such activities, and identifying and appropriately responding to regulatory risks or opportunities.

  • Assess and translate complex legislation, rules and regulations into understandable information and facilitating analysis of compliance and implementation implications

  • Review, draft and negotiate contracts, policies and procedures and related documents

  • Act as a lead counsel on projects or certain matters

  • Manage outside counsel and direct, monitor and develop legal strategies in connection with transactional, litigation and arbitration matters

Education/Experience:
Juris Doctor (JD) required: 5+ years of experience in the areas of corporate or health law required
1+ years of experience with government contract law, health law and managed care preferred
Knowledge of state insurance and or managed healthcare HMO regulations and Medicaid managed care required
Bar Admission and currently in good active standing

Pay Range: $178,500.00 - $338,800.00 per year
