We are seeking an exceptional Development Representative to join our team and play a vital role in generating revenue to support the mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. As a Development Representative, you will be responsible for managing, recruiting, and expanding volunteer, donor, and sponsorship efforts throughout the region. Your efforts will directly impact our ability to maximize funds raised for ALSAC while increasing support for and awareness of our cause.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Excellence:
Set and exceed financial and stewardship goals, as established by regional leadership.
Utilize exceptional interpersonal and sales skills to create and nurture relationships with volunteers, donors, and sponsors through face-to-face interactions, aiming to recruit new partners and strengthen existing relationships.
Provide guidance, motivation, direction, and resources to fundraising initiatives through various communication channels, including personal visits, written correspondence, and electronic communication.
Develop and execute national fundraising initiatives within the region, such as radiothons, school-based events, promotions programs, multi-cultural initiatives, fitness events, and peer-to-peer events. This includes recruiting volunteers and sponsors to implement best practices and maximize revenue.
Create personalized cultivation plans for volunteers, donors, and sponsors, involving thank-you letters, personal visits, donor appreciation lunches, regional volunteer recruitment events, and regular follow-ups.
Manage and nurture volunteer, donor, and sponsor relationships for events and programs within your assigned book of business. Coordinate event logistics, maintain vendor contacts, and ensure accurate records of all event-related activities.
Lead sponsorship/recruitment pitches and effectively close deals, conducting prospect research on potential sponsors and developing compelling sponsorship proposals. Maintain and update contact information on shared target lists.
Event and Marketing Management:
Lead the planning and execution of events, promotions, and partnerships.
Develop and implement marketing and recruitment plans for events.
Stay informed about current market trends and regional happenings to identify new business opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Participate in cross-training opportunities by attending events outside the region and share expertise on core programs and soft skills acquired through experience.
At management's discretion, serve as a regional lead, gathering information for the region and providing feedback related to programs to the regional team and management.
Professional Engagement:
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, national meetings, and training seminars.
Present the organization to various companies, third-party organizations, volunteer committees, fund-raising events, and through various mediums.
Prepare and submit all required reports and provide progress and forecasting updates.
Asset Management and Travel:
Responsible for the proper usage and maintenance of all company assets.
Extensive travel by plane and automobile may be required.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of fundraising and public relations.
Experience creating social media posts for Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Exceptional communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
Ability to work face-to-face with event volunteers and sponsors.
Proficiency in Spanish and English is required, as it enables effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders and donors.
Proficiency in understanding and using data processing applications.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
1-2 years of fundraising, sales, marketing, or related experience is a plus.
Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for this role.
