The Opportunity:
Join our Agile team as a Software Developer role, responsible for providing customer and application support across various efforts for the Department of Navy (DoN). In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and Government customers to design, build, and deliver innovative features while supporting various modernization efforts. You will identify opportunities for Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, software development, and audit compliance. You will define and implement project deliverables through all aspects of the software development life cycle. You will be responsible for updating front end (Java, Python and JavaScript) or back end (Oracle database) code for applications to be deployed in unclassified and classified production environments. This includes implementing best practices to develop secure code for each application. Responsibilities:
1. Research AI, data structures, and algorithms, utilizing various tools, technologies, methodologies, and data analysis to improve existing AI models and pioneer innovative solutions.
2. Stay current with the latest developments in AI (Machine Learning (ML), Large Language Models (LLM), Generative AI (GenAI), etc.) while ensuring compliance with ethical AI practices and data privacy regulations.
3. Design, develop, and implement software modifications in response to system change requests.
4. Implement software enhancements and add new functionality based on Government directed requirements.
5. Troubleshoot system software defects.
6. Analyze system database performance to recommend and implement improvements.
7. Mitigate software security vulnerabilities to ensure cyber compliance.
8. Support application release pipeline in development environments.
9. Use Jira to track code and database changes through agile scrum process.
10. Analyze current system architecture and propose solutions to upgrade as newer technological advances become available.
11. Coordinate with stakeholders to adhere to financial and IT audit standards of operations and systems.
