Shipping Dock Associate

Position Summary:

Coperion K-Tron is looking for a Shipping Dock Associate and the position will be located in Salina, KS.

Work You'll Do:

  • Prepare project for shipping, which may include building pallets, skids and crates according to specification.
  • Accurately package, label and weigh items to be shipped and ensure proper shipment method and shipping charges.
  • Loads route trucks as indicated on the daily load request and verifies the order by double checking the quantity.
  • Ensure accuracy of pick lists prior to shipping.
  • Ensure all export declarations are followed to customer specifications.
  • Knowledge of product estimating weight to calculate cost of shipping.
  • Knowledge of proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.
  • Assist with cycle counts.
  • Keeps dock clean, orderly and in safe condition.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Team:

This role will be a part of the Shipping team packaging products for domestic and export shipping and will work with 7 additional team members. This position will report to the Production Manager.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years related shipping/warehouse experience, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various shop related components and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills working with customers, vendors, co-workers and visitors.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanically able to use small power and hand tools.
  • Forklift experience w/valid driver’s license for forklift certification.
  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage workloads
  •  interpret packing slips
  • Ability to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database
  • Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is desirable.
  • Must have computer experience w/accurate data entry skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
