Principal SDET – Platform/Applications

Responsibilities

  • Lead validation of functional and non-functional aspects of platform components and applications using the best testing methodologies to deliver best quality
  • Lead the design and implementation of automation covering both functional and non-functional aspects for the product that consists of infrastructure (IaaS & SaaS Technologies), frameworks, app SDKs and various functional apps.
  • Work closely with the platform and applications teams to certify for functionality, security, compatibility, scalability and performance. 
  • Define & develop testing plans and enforce testing standards and best practices
  • Provide thought leadership and actively drive teams to ensure the advancement of testing & automation tasks and required tooling
  • Responsible for developing a continuous improvement mindset in team and project interactions to improve stakeholder & customer satisfaction

Experience and Skills 

  • 7-10 years of total experience in enterprise software/product development environments with more than 4 years of experience in software automation.
  • Excellent Team player and ability to work in fast paced dynamic environment; experience leading team to deliver large modules or projects end to end.
  • Demonstrated experience of implementing Agile practices for different phases of a test lifecycle and the testing methodologies;
  • Proven experience with automating testing of UI flows, REST APIs, backend application flow logic using necessary tools like Selenium, Protractor, RestAssured, Postman, Newman, JMeter, Karate, Junit, DBUnit, or similar
  • Hands on experience with designs and programming/scripting languages (Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Bash, etc.). Development experience will be preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of web technologies, databases, SQL
  • Expert knowledge of one or more areas of non-functional testing like cross browser support, UX/Usability, internationalization, localization, performance, security etc.
  • Demonstrable understanding and/or working knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) and DevOps with Jenkins or similar
  • Experience with cloud providers such as Azure or AWS
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Ability to set/manage processes for at least one test case management and defect tracking tool (e.g. JIRA, TFS, Rally etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relative work experience
  • Strong experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment having CI/CD
  • Working experience in Retail domain or projects; knowledge of MDM/PIM
