This role is a working supervisor who ensures daily work is scheduled and completed on time while complying with environmental and safety regulations. Performs a variety of cemetery maintenance work including operating machinery and manual labor. Train team on processes, procedures, equipment, and machinery providing constructive feedback. Builds a trusting and reliable team.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Cemetery Maintenance
Performs and supervises cemetery maintenance and grounds keeping daily workload. Develops work schedules, sets deadlines, and delegates assignments. Ensures cemetery services exceed customer expectations.
Establishes and communicates work, quality, and safety expectations. Coordinates staff work and time-off schedules ensuring appropriate coverage and minimizing overtime; approves timecards.
Manages grounds keeping, landscaping, and seasonal plantings presenting a welcoming and manicured appearance of properties. Ensures compliance with environmental, safety, and wild life regulations.
Orders, stores, and maintains sufficient inventory of tools, materials, equipment and lawn treatment. Reviews invoices for accuracy and resolve issues. Maintains equipment in proper working order.
Recommends and implements efficiencies. Supports change initiatives
People Development
Trains staff on cemetery maintenance and grounds keeping procedures, safety, and environmental regulations. Demonstrates proper operation of machinery and equipment. Recommends procedure revisions.
Develops a strong, trusting, and reliable team. Understands team members career aspirations and provides assignments to develop skills and close gaps.
Constructively addresses issues and provides timely appropriate feedback. Provides performance assessment input to management. Applies a proactive and collaborative communication style.

Minimum Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
At least five (5) years cemetery maintenance experience with increasing responsibilities.
Leadership experience a plus
New Construction / developmental experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrates knowledge of Environment regulations as applicable to industry
Demonstrates knowledge of wild life regulations as applicable to industry
Demonstrates knowledge of staff and public safety regulations as applicable to industry
Uses clear verbal communication skills
Planning skills
Work Conditions
Work outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions
Comply with Field dress code policy
Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 6 hours per day
Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently
Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage
Lifting, pushing, pulling
Working beyond “standard” hours as the need arises
Pay
$68,000.00 yearly
