Job Description Summary

Responsible for activities related to the construction, building and commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization, through civil, erection and commissioning work, as well as management activities related to this scope. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • May lead a project site team or manage group of subcontractors for smooth execution of installation, testing & commissioning activities for ensuring project completion as per contractual date.
  • Having in-depth technical knowledge on ITC discipline with prior experience in substation and execute planned strategy for earlier completion.
  • Must have working knowledge in ITO phase for preparation of required RFQ and cost estimation for new tendering needs.
  • Taking lead to perform FAT execution with clients and consultants by clarifying all technical query and obtaining required dispatch clearance from end user.
  • Support cross-functional project team for continuous improvement of SQDC, OTD and Say/Do performance metrics as per unit KPI.
  • Shall have EWA specification and substation network knowledge for easy delivering of project as per contract terms and condition.
  • Assessing the requirements for site  mobilization and startup smooth ITC phase execution with subcontractors, consultants & client.
  • Demonstrates hands-on experience in configuration, parameterization, testing, and troubleshooting of numerical protection relays  with different manufacturers.
  • Provides hands-on support for commissioning, operation, and troubleshooting of SCADA , Substation Automation Systems (SAS), telecom and master control center.
  • Responsible for executing end‑of‑maintenance‑period obligations,  all contractual deliverables submission and obtaining final acceptance Completion Certificate.
  • Serves as an authorized EWA permit holder for performing live substation and warranty works as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with electrical and electronics engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 14 years of total experience, with at least 7 years in EWA projects.
  • Experience in EWA CITY TEE and LOOP type substations.
  • Must hold a valid CRPEP license authorizing the performance of electrical activities in Bahrain.
