Part time Position (20hrs per week)

Pay: The expected hiring range for this position is from $20.00 - $28.00 per hour. The stated hiring range is based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Final compensation decisions will take into account a variety of considerations, including individual skills, internal equity, and organizational needs.

JOB SUMMARY

The Homeownership Coordinator provides education, guidance, and one-on-one coaching to individuals and families seeking assistance with budgeting, credit improvement, and overall financial coaching to prepare for homeownership.  This role requires two years of Pre-purchase Housing Counseling experience and a strong knowledge of federal, state, and local housing programs.

JOB FUNCTIONS

 1. Client Support

  • Deliver one-on-one coaching sessions in compliance with HUD standards. (10 families per week).
  • Assist clients with Pre-purchase guidance:
  • Credit and budget coaching until credit scores are within reasonable range for mortgage qualification.
  • Develop individualized action plans to assess net income and follow-up strategies.

2. Education & Workshops

  • Assist Community Lending team with the preparation of curriculum.
  • Conduct Homeownership workshops (in person and virtual).
  • Schedule and manage invitations to all educational workshops.
  • Develop and deliver homebuyer education (co-teach with CL MLOs)
  • Assist customers with credit and budgeting questions
  • Develop and deliver training on mortgage products (co-teach with CL MLOs)
  • Track attendance and report outcomes
  • Assist marketing and community lending team with maintaining all social media pages.

3. File Management & Compliance

  • Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant client files.
  • Enter all client data into the required CRM (Insellerate), that does not populate from LOS. (Credit scores, dpa awarded if applicable, referral source, credit coaching notes, calendar invites to schedule monthly follow up with borrower).
  • Ensure documentation meets organizational quality standards.

4. Program Knowledge & Partnerships

  • Stay updated on mortgage guidelines (FHA/USDA/VA/Conventional loan basics) and down-payment assistance programs to provide assistance to customers.
  • Build relationships with community organizations, real estate partners, housing authorities, lenders, etc.

5. Assist Community Lending team with reporting & metrics

  • Complete monthly and quarterly reports on client outcomes. Reports must be shared with corporate partners that have requested monthly or quarterly reports.
  • Track successful measures such as credit improvement, budgeting progress, and homebuyer readiness.
  • Track referrals (employee leads) from corporate partners.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years HUD Housing Counselor coach preferred
  • Strong knowledge of fair housing laws, mortgage basics, and consumer protections.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide empathetic, client-focused service while maintaining compliance.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with homebuyer education programs, DPA programs, or nonprofit housing agencies.
  • Familiarity with loan origination or mortgage lending.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus, not necessarily required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • 30% communication methods completed over the phone.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.

Constantly works in an indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
