CommBank's Business Bank is looking for a Transaction Banking Specialist to join our Specialist Sales & Client Solutions (SS&CS) business.
 

Our Business Banking team supports Australian businesses at every stage of their journey, combining deep industry expertise with tailored banking solutions to help our clients achieve their ambitions, navigate challenges and unlock new opportunities.
 

An integral part of Business Banking is the SS&CS team, which supports businesses through Cash Management, Merchant Solutions, Customer Lifecycle Management and customer-focused propositions, with specialist expertise from Transaction Banking and Payment Technical Sales teams dedicated to helping our customers optimise their banking operations and achieve their business objectives.
 

Location: Sydney or Melbourne CBD.
 

The Role.

As the Transaction Banking Specialist for our Specialised Agribusiness Solutions business, you will partner with business and corporate agribusiness customers across both pre- and post-farm gate sectors. You will deliver market-leading working capital, cash flow management and transaction banking solutions tailored to meet their evolving needs.

Managing a diverse portfolio of high-value customers and clients, you will help tailor transaction banking solutions that drive efficiency, optimise working capital and support long-term growth. By building trusted relationships and gaining a deep understanding of each customer's business, you will provide strategic insights that help clients navigate challenges, unlock opportunities and achieve their growth ambitions.
 

This is a highly visible, client-facing opportunity focused on identifying and winning new business across a comprehensive suite of transaction banking solutions, including Cash Management, Merchant Solutions (Card Present and eCommerce), BPAY, Direct Debit, Corporate Cards and Partnerships.
 

More specifically, you will:

• Proactively identify and develop new transaction banking opportunities, driving growth across both existing relationships and new-to-bank clients through strategic acquisition and referrals.
• Build, manage and convert a high-quality pipeline of transaction banking opportunities across complex client structures.
• Apply deep product expertise to create innovative, customer-focused solutions that address sophisticated client needs.
• Partner with relationship teams to review transaction banking performance and initiatives, ensuring opportunities are consistently identified, prioritised and pursued.
• Build and enhance the Commonwealth Bank's profile in the Transaction Banking market, continuing to position the Bank as a trusted industry leader.
   

What are we looking for?

You are a driven professional with a genuine passion for networking, relationship-building and generating new business. Success in this role is underpinned by a strong background in sales and business development, complemented by a sound understanding of the transaction banking product and payments landscape.
 

You will bring:

• A proven track record of driving increased business with complex corporate and institutional clients.
• Demonstrated experience responding to tenders and presenting compelling responses in a boardroom environment to C-suite executives.
• Strong knowledge of the broader payments ecosystem, plus the drive to master our transaction banking offering.
• Confidence working with complex structures such as trusts and partnerships.
• A well-established local network, strong commercial acumen and forward-thinking ideas.
• Exceptional negotiation skills and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding client experiences.
• A natural curiosity to understand your clients' business objectives, enabling you to deliver timely, professional and value-driven solutions.
• A keen interest in emerging technologies and their potential to add meaningful value to businesses.
