Our department is looking to add an Alcohol Drug Rebab Counselor to the team of caregivers. We are a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing quality care. We continuously explore ways to enhance the patient's experience. Our team provides designated meeting days to pursue training /workshops and opportunities to participate in research. We offer a hybrid work environment and encourage the team to explore opportunities to enhance their professional skills. 

 

A caregiver in this position works days, from 8:00am—5:00pm.  


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Perform assessment, planning and implementation of counseling and education services for substance abuse rehabilitation patients. 

  • Provide assigned patient counseling case management.  

  • Systematically and continually assess the patient's coping mechanisms in collaboration with the patient/family. 

  • Utilize appropriate teaching methods and/or referrals to ensure patient/family educational needs are met. 

  • Assess, collaborate, and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the care team. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Master's degree. 

  • Current state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW). 

  • One-year experience in human behavior, including individual group psychotherapy diagnostic formulation and psychological testing. 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Current state licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW). 

  • Certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate throughout the hospital and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer entry on a PC and keyboard.

  • Requires frequent sitting, standing and data entry.

  • Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
