A Day in the Life

Join Medtronic’s Endoscopy Operating Unit as a Senior Product Security Engineer and play a pivotal role in safeguarding the next generation of medical diagnostics. at Medtronic, we develop world-leading gastrointestinal solutions like the PillCam™ (a pioneering capsule endoscopy technology that allows non-invasive visualization of the digestive tract). In this role, you will bridge the gap between advanced cybersecurity and patient safety, ensuring our life-changing technologies remain secure against evolving threats.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead security architecture and influence the future of healthcare technology. You will work in a collaborative, hybrid environment in our Yokneam site, reporting to the Quality Systems Sr. Manager and working closely with global R&D teams to deliver secure, innovative solutions that reach millions of patients worldwide.


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Perform comprehensive security assessments of medical devices including vulnerability and risk assessments, threat analysis, and security reviews
  • Design and develop advanced security features for products including systems, cloud-based applications, and software solutions
  • Integrate new security features and updates into existing products to ensure security is maintained throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Provide product security engineering recommendations and resolve complex integration and testing issues during the development phase
  • Lead and participate in security architecture and design review meetings to ensure "security by design" principles are met
  • Build a standardized set of security product requirements and produce metrics to report performance against these standards
  • Detect and mitigate security risks while responding to product security incidents and working with customers on security-related issues

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in performing security assessments, threat modelling, and vulnerability analysis
  • Solid understanding of security features development and integration within R&D or system environments
  • Experience in conducting security reviews to identify design and implementation vulnerabilities
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision while coaching and reviewing the work of other specialists
