Position Summary

The Holtzman Lab is located in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and is broadly funded by NIH and DOD. The Lab is seeking a postdoctoral scholar or fellow to develop new treatments for post-injury (often post-viral) lung diseases, including asthma, COPD, long Covid, and post-flu sequelae. We concentrate on therapies to fix the immune and epithelial stem cell reprogramming that develops as a key part of inflammatory memory and persistent disease.

We use cutting-edge technologies for drug and antibody discovery and development coupled with testing in animal models, human cell models, and clinical samples. Methods include a full range of lab techniques with links to cores and collaborations for histology, flow cytometry, nucleic acid sequencing/imaging, proteomics, protein structure, pharmacology/toxicology, transgenic mice, and clinical samples. Progress has also led to related activities in FDA approval including clinical trial design.

Lab members generally focus on a subset of activities based on their background and interests. NIH training grant eligibility is useful but not required.
